“A huge thank you to everyone we work with, NCEE and Times Higher Education for naming us Outstanding Entrepreneurial University, it means so much. The world of work is changing and we work hard to prepare King’s students, staff and alumni with the skills and entrepreneurial mindset they’ll need to succeed. We’re a small, passionate Entrepreneurship Institute team who’ve come up with innovative new programmes and partnerships to make this happen across all King’s 9 faculties and 31,000 students.

Entrepreneurial minds at King’s have pioneered and influenced many of the advances that shape our lives and continue to do so, building the next generation of exciting ventures that are creating jobs and contributing to the UK economy.”

“We are over the moon to win this award. We have worked extremely hard to bring forward a ground-breaking new type of publisher. We are the only student-led trade publishing house within a University in the world. We’ve proved that it’s possible to make a bestseller and we will continue to push the boundaries of what is possible. Winning this award is a real thumbs up for our efforts. Onwards and upwards!”

We are very proud to be named THE Awards University of the Year. The University of Glasgow was delighted to receive the THE Outstanding Contribution to Leadership award in recognition of our Leadership Behavioural Framework and related 360 diagnostic tool.  We know there is always strong competition for these prestigious awards.  The framework is the result of a co-creation of the University’s leadership community in articulating what they expected of their leaders to achieve success so we are celebrating receiving the award on their behalf as well as the Employee and Organisational Development team who led on this project.

"I was honoured and proud to receive the award for Outstanding Contribution to the Local Community on behalf of the CAER Heritage team along side Dave Horton from our community partner Action in Caerau and Ely and Viv Thomas, long term community volunteer and Ely resident. That we all went up to accept the award together reflects the close partnerships and co-production values that underpin our project.  It is wonderful that that those partnerships and values have now been recognised by the Times Higher Awards. Indeed, this is not simply an award for Cardiff University, it is an award for a myriad of project partners including Cardiff Council, the Cardiff West Community High school, the National Museum of Wales, Cardiff Story Museum and the Glamorgan Archive. Most importantly, it is an award for the hundreds of local volunteers who have contributed to the project and the immensely warm and talented communities of Caerau and Ely. It recognises the incredible significance of heritage assets for communities facing social and economic challenges and highlights that through embedding academics in their host communities, universities have the power to effect real and lasting positive change through the co-production of knowledge. "The decision to submit an entry for a THE award can be nerve-wracking as you know that something you are immensely proud of will be subject to intense scrutiny. However, once you collect your winning trophy all that is forgotten. We are so pleased to have won the award  for Outstanding Support for Students as it acknowledges the hard work and commitment of our staff, and in particular the dedication of the Student Success Project team, to ensure that all our students are given every opportunity to fulfill their academic potential regardless of background. Winning this award means a great deal to us all."

Thank you to our committed community of staff, students and alumni for their outstanding work and ongoing dedication to meeting urgent challenges in public and global health.”

"I am honoured to be the recipient of the THE Most Innovative Teacher of the Year Award. In my history courses at Canterbury Christ Church University, I have sought to balance a rigorous curriculum and the pursuit of knowledge for its own sake, with developing a variety of graduate skills amongst my students. I am thrilled that this award has recognised the diverse teaching methods that I use to introduce students to early modern history, from workshops and trial recreations with invited external scholars, to interactive assessed debates and exhibitions involving the local community. Perhaps most importantly, it reaffirms the value that these methods bring to students’ experience, by assisting them to make sense of material for themselves in a creative and collaborate environment not only within the university, but also in a professional capacity."

Dr Sara Wolfson, Director of Employability, School of Humanities, Canterbury Christ Church University

“I am honoured to be the first recipient of this award in full awareness that there are many other committed research supervisors here and overseas.  I am delighted that the success of social work doctoral students, the excellence of the work of PhD students who are British Sign Language users and the diversity of other doctoral students with whom I have worked can be celebrated through this award.”

Alys Young, Prof of Social Work Education & Research, The University of Manchester

"Becoming University of the Year is a tremendous achievement and one that every member of staff, every student past and present, every governor, every friend and every partner has contributed to. We are delighted to receive the recognition our peers have decided we deserve. Sometimes it’s nice to know we make a difference to peoples’ lives, and the hundreds of congratulatory emails in my inbox alone in the days following the fantastic award ceremony have been testimony to that. Thank you."
