The full shortlist for this year's Times Higher Education Awards can be found here

The THE Awards evening will take place on Thursday 27 November, at The Grosvenor House Hotel in London.

Now in their tenth year, the Times Higher Education Awards celebrate the extraordinary things that are going on in our universities and colleges, day in, day out.

With 18 categories covering the full range of university activity, including a new one for 2014 recognising the Outstanding International Student Strategy, these awards showcase the pioneering spirit, adaptability and sheer quality of our sector.

WINNER: “University College London is delighted and honoured to win the Times Higher Education award for the best International Collaboration of the Year. UCL was established in 1826 to provide quality education opportunities regardless of race, religion or gender. The award acknowledges this proud tradition and our obligations to assisting in helping improve the lives and health of disadvantaged and poor populations of the world by developing pioneering, equitable and innovative research and training collaborative partnerships with developing countries.  The success of our complex multi-country international programme is due to the efforts put into it by a large number of dedicated researchers and educators in several European and African countries. The award recognises a major contribution by University College London that now has a firm presence in ‘Global Health’ collaborations in sub-Saharan African countries. Whilst we have won several international awards The Times Higher education award is very special one since it acknowledges the training, educational and capacity development aspects of our University of Zambia-University College London Medical School (UNZA-UCLMS) Research & Training Programme, through which over the past 20 years, we have enhanced the careers of hundreds of African scientists, and health personnel, and helped in developing diagnostics and interventions for killer infectious diseases.”
